Muslim voices 5/31 to 6/7

Date: June 07, 2003 | 6 Rabi al-Akhir 1424 Hijriah
Subjects: muslim, blogs
Non-Blogger blogs.

Karen Hanson's youngest child is going for speech therapy, which is keeping her busy. I remember when I was little, my younger sister had to take speech therapy. It can be really frustrating for a kid when they know the words they want to say but somehow it doesn't come out quite right.

Burhan talks about his struggles with his faith.

Umair Salam shares some thoughts about his reading in the Quran, Surah Hadid.

Meanwhile, at his articles blog, Umair posts up a classic called "Allah won't ask".

Muslim Wake Up posts about an AIDS conference and the controversies that erupted there.

Zack Ajmal examines a report strongly criticizing the treatment of post-9/11 detainees in the U.S.

Umar posts about the case of a Muslim woman in the U.S. who has been charged with murder for killing the man who was attempting to rape her.

Blogger blogs.

Abez talks about rape as an opportunistic crime (June 2).

Rabs points us to an article called "The Straight Dope on Islam" (June 6).

Daniyah talks about a position she's taken at a center to help homeless women (June 6).

Nazim shares another great story, this one about a man driving a Jaguar (June 5).

Honey posts a poem that she found about faith (June 1).

Arshe shares a list of suggested vacation spots for Muslims (June 6). Like her, my favorite is to head up to the Arctic and pray in a naturally cooled mosque. wink

Sammerz tells a story about how someone at work told her she must not be a real Muslim because she drives a car and so forth (June 3). The arrogance of some people is astounding. Brava, sister Sammerz, for keeping your cool.

Jabir says "Glorifying terrorists is a Satanic distraction" (June 1).

Sina (Linda) posts the story of a Hindu convert to Islam (June 6).

Chocoholic (formerly Sheshe) shares a poem by Emanuel Ortiz reminding us of all the human rights tragedies that have occurred around the world (May 31).

Sufistic posts about the means through which good character may be acquired (June 7).

Prof_sadin posts about corporate governance, her research topic (June 6).

Ikram Saeed has a series of posts called "Distinct Societies" about political and social attitudes in the U.S. as compared to various other countries (June 2, 4, and 5).

Ubaid wonders how common it actually is for Muslims to convert away from Islam (June 2).

I Pinged You

My own entry was in reference to one or more posts elsewhere. If you'd like to add a link to your post there, add the following to the list of URLs that you ping:

Take a quick peek at the post(s) I pinged:

  • Surah Hadid
Today I studied Surah Hadid (Iron) which is Chapter 57 from the Quraan. I encourage you all to read it...
  • Allah Won't Ask
Allah won't ask what kind of car you drove, but will ask how many people you drove who didn't have...
