Muslim voices 6

Date: April 21, 2003 | 18 Safar 1424 Hijriah
Subjects: muslim, blogs
The first blog for today is The Islamic Feminista, a group blog hosted by LiveJournal (for some reason, LJers don't often seem to be part of the larger blogging community). The members of The Islamic Feminista community discuss feminism, women in Islam, and related issues. A lot of the recent posts are about the war in Iraq. The blog also features a rather striking background image of a veiled woman with a weapon. Let's just say this is a blog with attitude!

Second is Think Halal, another group blog. Think Halal was one of the earlier Muslim blogs and hosts the Muslim Blogs webring. The authors of this blog have strong opinions about current events and aren't shy to share them. You may love it or hate it but you won't likely be bored by it.

Third is To Submit, another group blog at LiveJournal. The word Islam means "submission" in Arabic so the blog's title is a play on words, indicating that it's about being a Muslim. The authors share articles and information that they've found about Islam or post questions.

Fourth, we have Umair's Blog. Brother Umair Salam shares Islamic information, thoughts on current events, and stories about what's going on in his life. Umair has several other blogs including a blog in Urdu, a blog of articles, a blog of photos, and a blog where he posts Arabic lessons. There's enough at Umair's site to keep you busy for hours!

Finally, there is Waffling, a bit more waffling & some more waffling, which is one of my favorite blog titles. Sister Raeesa, the blog's author, shares her experiences as a Muslim teenager in the UK. Another of the highlights of the blog is Raeesa's creative spelling wink

Sorry for the multiple pings. x.X I tend to go back and edit my blog entries a lot and I suppose it re-pinged you with each update. I think you can delete the repeats, though, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem. I do apologise for the extra work I've caused you.

Since I've already opened this window to comment, I guess I'll take this opportunity to say I am really glad I came upon your blog. It's a lovely read! I'm enjoying browsing it immensely. ^^

Thanks for visiting, Almeda smile Don't worry about the extra pings. I cleaned them out.
