Muslim voices 2

Date: April 17, 2003 | 14 Safar 1424 Hijriah
Subjects: muslim, blogs
Here are five more Muslim blogs for your reading enjoyment. Actually, there are six blogs; I tossed in an extra one for free wink

First up we have Bohemian Journeys by sister noBraiNnEr, who lives in Singapore. She writes honestly about her efforts to be a good Muslim and the difficulties she faces in her life. Some of her recent posts include an intensely personal entry about her father, with whom she's had a difficult relationship (April 16; archive links are bloggered), and what the term "moderate Muslim" really means (April 14). You can also check out Crystal Coven, the blog of her sister WITCH (the extra blog in this installment).

Next is Calgon, Take Me Away! which has a great title, I think. Sister Mistaken Identity is another convert and, according to her blog, a homeschooling mother of five. Wow! I'm surprised she has any time to blog. She shares interesting stories about her life and her personal reflections.

Third (OK, fourth) is Cindy's Blog. I have to give special credit to sister Cindy, who inspired me to start blogging. Cindy is another convert (yes, I'm highlighting a lot of converts' blogs). Her blog is a personal journal, wonderfully well-written. She draws you in and makes you care about her. I hope also that her blog and some of the others that are more personal in nature will show you that Muslims are ordinary people too, dealing with the same issues that we all do, and trying to make the best of what life gives us.

Fourth (or, fifth) is Epicycle by brother Murtz. Murtz shares his thoughts on a variety of issues including current events. In his most recent entry (April 6), he shares a poem by Muslim mystic Rumi and adds a little interesting historical context.

Finally, we have Fazal Majid's Low Intensity Weblog. Brother Fazal posts a lot about photography and computers but touches on other topics as well. Recently, he posted about science in the Soviet Union.

May Allah reward you for your efforts.

I enjoy reading the actual preludes to the site, the kind of intro-nicely written.

Thanks for visiting, sis smile

I generally don't visit sites like that nor go out and attempt to engage in discussion with the people at them. If people come to my own site and challenge me to defend my beliefs, I am glad to do so. But I tend to feel it's a waste of time for me to seek them out. No change will occur if a person doesn't have a mind open to new ideas.

I have a lot of information about Islam on my site, and links to more. It's all there for those who are willing to seek it out and to learn.
