I need a favor

Due to the unusually high traffic my site has been receiving since the war started, I exceeded the database allotment my webhost gives me for this month. The overage charge is not a problem; I have a little money credited to my account and it shouldn't cost more than a couple bucks anyway.

In order to avoid this happening again, I am planning to upgrade my hosting plan, inshallah. I had been planning to do so this summer, but I don't think it can wait.

This is an unanticipated expense, and I also have to pay a fee to my webhost because I had prepaid through July and they want me to pay this fee if I upgrade before then. I'm currently supporting myself on unemployment benefits and a loan from my parents while I go to school so my finances are extremely tight.

It will cost me approximately $65 for the upgrade fee and the amount the new plan costs above what I have already paid for the next four months.

I am asking for donations, as a favor from anyone who finds this website valuable. There is a PayPal button in the left column of the veiled4allah page, below the list of recent blog entries and comments, which you can use to make a secure online donation.

Again, it's only $65 and the money will be spent only to pay for the hosting upgrade. The amount will cover me through July, inshallah. Thank you for anything you can give me and God bless you.

You should consider reducing the size of the pages that you deliver. This can be accomplished by taking away some of the images on your site or archiving older posts such that most of the post is in the "Additional Entry Section" which will reduce the need for bandwidth from people who visit regularly. For that matter, returning comments to the more normal form under Movable Type will probably save some bandwidth too.

Actually, most all of my blogroll links are being served from blogrolling.com.

Also, it's not bandwidth that's really the problem. I still have plenty of that. It's database connections. And the comments require database hits no matter how I display them.
