ha!

Date: March 08, 2003 | 4 Muharram 1424 Hijriah
Subjects: antiwar, blogs
On the same day, three prominent liberal bloggers go antiwar: Kevin Drum of CalPundit, Sean Paul Kelley of The Agonist, and Josh Micah Marshall of Talking Points Memo.

From all reports, we're less than ten days away from launching war on Iraq. And still the Bush Administration can't make a convincing case for why we're doing it.

There's no point or sense in holding back any longer. No diplomatic game we need to play. Iraq is staring down the barrels of our guns. I think those on the fence kept hoping that the Bush Administration had a better case than they've been making so far. But the time came and it was the same old thing again.

Aside: Slightly ahead of the game, former fence-sitter Aziz Poonawalla began writing antiwar posts at unmedia five days ago.

Added 3/9: Welcome aboard the peace train, Jonathan Edelstein!
invasion

And also the New York Times (reprinted at Common Dreams)

Added 3/11: While I'm at it, Arthur Silber, a libertarian whose post on torture I linked to in another entry, also says no to war.

There are plenty of us who have been opposed to war for a long time, but if anybody knows of other bloggers who have recently become antiwar after having previously supported the war plans, or were sitting on the fence, please post them in the comments.

It's good to see some prominent liberal bloggers getting on the antiwar wagon, albeit at the last moment. I've been arguing against giving Bush a blank check against terrorism since 9-11. Add me to your list of smilies.

Ken, we have already had this argument before. I have stated my views over and over and over again. I oppose this war because I believe that its costs will be greater than its benefits. You have never bothered to produce any evidence to rebut the evidence I cite to support this or to support your own claims that the costs will be minimal. Until you can do that, you have not changed my mind.

I'm sorry that you don't seem to understand me even after all this time. I'm sorry that you think that anybody who disagrees with you is somehow pro-Saddam or anti-freedom. If you had really read my posts you would know that I am neither.
