inquiring minds want to know

If the Ansar al-Islam camp in Kurdish-controlled northern Iraq is an imminent threat and the U.S. already has a strong presence in that area and the U.S. has a policy of pre-emptive strikes, why is the camp still there? Among those asking this question are lawmakers, Interesting Times, Counterspin Central, and The Slacktivist.

And how does the fact that there is no chemical weapons plant there play into this?
