Muslims and HIV/AIDS #1

Date: December 01, 2002 | 26 Ramadan 1423 Hijriah
Subjects: hiv, aids
I found a moving story on the web by a revert sister who has HIV. I think it's really a good reminder and test for us all. You can read the whole story at For Every Sickness, There Is A Cure - Even HIV.

We were talking about people with terminal diseases, and so forth. I asked, "What about a person with HIV (not even full blown Aids)?" Their responses were so unenlightened that I asked them where they had gotten their information. It was like talking to people that believed in every stereotype and myth that they had ever heard of. They said they wouldn't hug the person, or wouldn't let them around their kids because they were afraid they might breathe on them (since no one knows how the illness is spread). They also said that the person would have to be gay. I then asked, "But what if someone you knew were raped and contracted it that way?" Their answers were still the same. In essence, they would cut off all communication. And these are Muslims - I am not speaking of the Kufar. They had no mercy, and because of that, I spent another year in isolation before a sister from South Bronx befriended me.

When she asked me why I wasn't married, I broke down and cried so hard that she could see that I was suffocating from grief. After I made her swear not to tell anyone, I told her. She cried too, and said that it was okay. She reminded me that the only judge was Allah (SWT) and asked me to come back to the masjid. She also recommended that I make Tawbah (repent and seek forgiveness) from Allah, and encouraged me not to stop taking my worries to Allah, particularly at night, because in reality, He was my only friend.

t has always been an embarassment for me being a muslim, and being hiv+. my previous husbands/boyfriends were not muslims. i am not looking for a husband, so that is not the issue. it's not having a network or support groups for us muslims who are positive.

AS-SALAAMU ALAYKUM,

BISMILLAH ARRAHMAN ARRAHEEM
ALLAHUMMA SALLI ALA SAYYIDINA MUHAMMAD WA SALIM.

I GREET ALL OF MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS, WITH THE ABOVE WORDS.

I READ THE POST ABOVE AND OTHERS ON HIV SUBJECT; I WOULD LIKE TO WARN MUSLIMS NOT TO TAKE SHAYTAN AS A GUIDE IN A MATTER AS CRITICAL AS THIS. I AM ASTOUNDED THAT EVEN MANY MUSLIM DRS. AND SCHOLARS ARE PASSING ON FALSE INFO. ON THIS SUBJECT. WE SHOULD ALL BE AWARE THAT IS WIDESPREAD DISAGREEMENT ABOUT HIV AND IT'S CONNECTION TO AIDS. MANY ARE CALLING FOR REPENTANCE. THIS IS UNJUST, AS THEY ARE ASSUMING TRANSGRESSION. OF COURSE, NONE OF US ARE SINLESS; HOWEVER, THE ISSUE IS SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS AND UNSCIENTIFIC PROOF BEHIND THE HIV THEORY ( AND IT IS A THEORY OF MR. HALF-TRUTH GALLO AND HIS CONFEDERACY).

CAN THE LIARS AND THEIR DISCIPLES PROVE-PROVE-PROVE THAT HIV IS NOT A SIMPLE RETROVIRUS, AND THAT AIDS IS ACTUALLY ONE OF MANY COMMON DISEASES THAT PEOPLE DIE FROM DAILY, WITHOUT BEING HIV POSITIVE? SOME ARE, SOME ARE NOT. THIS IS TRUE.

IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE TOXIC AIDS MEDICATIONS ARE KILLING MORE PEOPLE THAN THE HIV RETROVIRIUS? SHOULD NOT WE ALL LOOK DEEPER INTO THE SUBJECTS OF T CELLS, VIRAL LOADS, CD4.... ? I THINK SO!

PLEASE CHECKOUT THE FOLLOWING TWO SITES:

Brothers and sisters, this is the tip of the iceberg on this subject. Let's stop feeling sorry for ourselves and study to find ourselves approved. Prove all things and hold fast to that which is true (Bible) . I am seeking knowledge, even unto China; and I mean that literally. I am asking ALLAH to increase me in knowledge and protect me from error. I am asking Allah to forgive me for my sins and to bestow upon me His Mercy. I am asking ALLAH to preserve my health and life for His service and for the benefit of those who may be in need of my modest assistance. Let's not forget birth
control death plans. Who is being wiped out? Where in the world? THINK! Who is making money from this falsehood? Think! I am such a small student on this subject, but I could talk all day and night about what I have learned. I suggest that Hiv positive Muslims get busy and study. Please email me at bashiri7@yahoo.com with your comments and questions on alternative treatments for restoring the immune system. If there is a good Sister that's seeking a husband with a progressive traditionalistic consciousness, please write and I will send more of a personal profile. Please include your profile.

Shukran, Jazakallah khayran.

Ali
