paralegal or detective?

Date: October 02, 2002 | 25 Rajab 1423 Hijriah
Subjects: school, paralegal
Today a guest speaker came to one of my classes. He works as a private investigator. He told us about what P.I.s do and how they work with lawyers and law enforcement and so on. Paralegals may end up doing investigation to learn more about the facts in the cases their law firm is working on and apparently some paralegals decide that they like it so much that they're going to go into business for themselves as P.I.s. It was pretty cool

Most PI's that I know of are kind of shady characters .... so just be a bit careful, ok sis.

Uhh... I'm sure I wasn't in any danger listening to him in a classroom. I didn't say I wanted to become a P.I., I just said it was a cool talk. Thanks for your concern though.

This guy was pretty cool. He does pro bono (free) work for a shelter for battered women, helps find missing persons and so on.

Civil procedure, yawn. The demonization of George W. Bush - not interested. But THIS would be interesting - I wish you had written much more on this subject. It would be fascinating to find out how he does what he does.

In this day and age, I think we spend so much time on "EVIL" that we tend to forget the way "evil" nibbles away at the world and anyone who fights it is someone I want to know more about.

Well, the guy was only in my class for about half an hour to forty-five minutes so there isn't much more to tell.

BTW, I feel that President Bush has been and is making some bad decisions but I don't "demonize" him. I merely disagree with his politics. Unfortunately, I feel that some of his decisions may have bad consequences, which I am hoping to point out for those who are interested. Perhaps that is what you consider "demonizing" him.

Oh, and I'm sorry you find Civil Procedure boring. I suppose that it is. I'm just writing about things that happen in my life. They may not be of interest to anyone who doesn't know me. That's how it is with most personal blogs and journals, I think.

I appreciate your visiting my blog, but don't feel you have to stick around if you aren't interested in it or don't agree with it. My feelings won't be hurt smile
