a fruitless expedition

Date: September 06, 2002 | 28 Jumada al-Akhir 1423 Hijriah
Subjects: unemployment
After all these months of getting no callbacks when I send out my resume, yesterday I got a call from someone who wanted to set up an interview. I don't want to get hired now! I want to go ahead with school! In order to keep receiving unemployment benefits, I do have to go on job interviews. But I decided that I could discourage them from wanting to hire me by wearing niqab to the interview.

So first thing this morning I headed out. When I got there it turns out that they hired another candidate yesterday. They tried calling in the evening but I happened to be online then sent an email which arrived after I had signed off. So all that hassle was for nothing.

Oh, well. I didn't want the job anyway.
