But not for me

My sister is off to Hawaii for a scientific conference, where she'll be presenting a paper. My sister works for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory on projects having to do with the processing of photographs taken from satellites. I don't know much more than that, and if I did I couldn't tell you because it's classified (but it's more than what I know about my dad's work because that's even more top secret. Back in the 1980s, we used to be told not to go on vacation to Communist countries)

I wonder how they manage to have these scientific conferences in cool places like Hawaii. You can bet that my sister is planning to enjoy herself while she's there. She said she is going to do some snorkeling.

ooh wow! lucky! i'd love to go snorkling..never done it before...we just recently got the chance to go swimming regularly over here as the muslim women are renting an indoor pool every sat. for a really great price wink

and i guess your dad's not allowed to go vacationing to any country associated in or with the 'axis of evil' now huh?? wink
have you seen that video they just 'discovered' about gassing the dog on CNN...oh i can't stand it! i bet its a little hollywood production...

I'm not sure if my dad is actually restricted or not from vacationing in those countries, but I doubt it would go over well, lol.

My parents went on vacation to Russia last year, which was approved but apparently he still had to clear it with someone, so maybe the Cold War still lingers wink
