Regarding secon guessing going into the legal profession, it seems hardly likely that a practicing Muslim will feel comfortable "enforcing" American law longterm.
I was a paralegal, but decided that I could no longer support or further something other than the law of Allah.
I just thought I would post this in case you had not thought of potential conflicts that you may encounter in future. Even in a field as helpful as environmental law for instance.
Jazakallah khayrun for your feedback, sister Ummaziza. I have thought quite a bit about this issue and there are many fields of law that I would not want to go into because of conflicts with Islam. However, I hope to be able to make use of my skills to help Muslims in their dealings with the American legal system. It is in the hands of Allah SWT.
