if you never hear from me again, I got swallowed up by a bureaucracy

Date: August 15, 2002 | 6 Jumada al-Akhir 1423 Hijriah
Subjects: unemployment
Sorry for not posting yesterday. I spent a good part of the day at an informational session learning about a scholarship the Employment Service offers to help people go back to school. Unfortunately, I don't think I'm likely to get it. Also, I'm not sure that I want to limit my options as much as I would have to, to agree to their conditions. I talked it over with my parents yesterday and they agreed with me. It's fair that the Employment Service sets conditions when they're giving money, but it might not be what's best for every individual. When my family and I planned out how to pay for school we didn't even know about the scholarship, so the money isn't a problem.

I feel like I've filled out reams of paperwork this week, literally. I can't believe how many forms there are to fill out. And I haven't even gotten any money from anybody yet.
