clothes and other girly stuff

Date: May 28, 2002 | 16 Rabi al-Awwal 1423 Hijriah
Subjects: personal
Al-hamdulillah, my new abaya is finally done. It's from that pattern that used to be online (unfortunately that website doesn't seem to work any longer) but adapted freely. I think it looks pretty cool, though. I really appreciate how willing my mom is to put it so much work on making my veilings. Al-hamdulillah, my parents are very supportive of me and of my Islam (although niqab was a step too far for them, I'm afraid). And they have provided so much support to me financially and emotionally; they never even hesitated or held back when I told them I was getting laid off. I hope that Allah SWT will open their hearts towards Islam.

In order to prevent the abaya from blowing away in the wind, we put some washers in the bottom hem. I can definitely tell they're there because I could feel one of them hitting my shoe as I walked along. Well, I suppose I can use my abaya as a weapon if need be, lol.
