Islamic philosophy

Date: June 06, 2002 | 25 Rabi al-Awwal 1423 Hijriah
Subjects: islam
Now this is a topic that either people don't think is important or interesting, or they would condemn me for reading it and call it deviated and heretical. But I enjoy learning about it, and the way that Seyyed Hossein Nasr explained it, especially in An Introduction to Islamic Cosmological Doctrines really made it sound fascinating to me. It's one of my weird intellectual interests.

I was thinking about this because the philosopher Ibn Sina (Avicenna) was mentioned in an article posted at SV and let's face it, the authors of most of the articles posted there (including the ones posted by me) wouldn't be caught dead quoting a philosopher (the horror! the horror!). Maybe it was an oversight...

I wonder if anybody but me is actually interested in this. Well, this is my blog, and I post what I want. tongue
