a question about da'wah

Date: June 15, 2002 | 4 Rabi al-Akhir 1423 Hijriah
Subjects: islam
Would you go to a place that was full of fitna to make da'wah? What about online? This issue has been in the back of my mind for awhile. There is a certain online discussion group which seems to be dedicated to people who think that veiling is part of some kind of domination game or more than that. A visitor to my site sent me an email saying that I should join this group in order to present a true image of Islam there (this person is not a Muslim). I had already heard about this group previously and disliked the sound of it and when I visited it and viewed some of the discussions, this only confirmed it to me. I do not want to go to a place where those kinds of topics are discussed in that manner, and there are non-Muslim men who would think about me in that way because I veil. I thought the costs of going there were greater than the possible benefits of guiding somebody to Islam. What do you think? I know I haven't given a lot of information here, because I'm trying to avoid gossip and backbiting, but do you think I made the right decision? What would you think of Muslim women who did join that group in order to make da'wah?
