terrorists are everywhere!

Or so the government and the news media would have you believe. Not a day goes by that I don't see some warning about how terrorists "may" be doing this or "may" be doing that.

What the hell did we bomb Afghanistan and kill thousands of civilians for if the mysterious terrorists are just as free to act as they were before? Wasn't the war on Afghanistan supposed to root out terrorism?
