sometimes we need to look in the mirror first

Date: July 09, 2002 | 28 Rabi al-Akhir 1423 Hijriah
Subjects: thoughts
Before we accuse others of something, that is. Very often those who are strict in the deen are accused of being "arrogant" or rude to others. Sometimes they are. But a lot of times I see people who hold the "liberal" position being arrogant and rude too, making fun of those who hold stricter views than theirs. I could give some specific examples except that it would be backbiting. It just bothers me sometimes that some people think it's OK to be rude as long as you're defending a "liberal" position.

And what's wrong with wanting to be careful and avoid doubtful things, or to seek out reward from Allah SWT by doing something extra? If I want to wear niqab or give up music, what business is it of yours, even if you don't agree with my choices or don't think it's necessary? Maybe it's necessary for me and my iman.

You are right, Mr. Bush is making so many people hate the Americans. They do not have any right to kill innocents. Who is he going to libetare?, dead people?. If The United States would have wanted to help them, I am sure there were a lot of better ways, not killing them. People are not stupid and they know his aim is the petroleum or oil, more power for the USA. And what next?......
