Surah at-Taghabun ayah 11

Date: October 25, 2005 | 22 Ramadan 1426 Hijriah
Arabic text of ayah

Maa asaba min musibatin illa bi idhni Allahi wa man yumin bi Allahi yahdi qalbahu wa Allahu bi kulli shayin 'alimun

No kind of calamity can occur, except by the leave of Allah. And who has faith in Allah, He guides his heart, for Allah knows all things

The following is an excerpt of commentary on this ayah, from Tafsir Ibn Kathir:

Whoever suffered an affliction and he knew that it occurred by Allah's judgement and decree, and he patiently abides, awaiting Allah's reward, then Allah guides his heart, and will compensate him for his loss in this life by granting guidance to his heart and certainty in faith. Allah will replace whatever he lost for Him with the same or what is better
