Surah at-Talaq ayah 11

Date: October 09, 2005 | 6 Ramadan 1426 Hijriah
Arabic text of ayah

Rasulan yatlu 'alaykum ayati Allahi mubayyinatin li yukhrija alladhina amanu wa 'amiloo as-salihati mina az-zulumati ila an-nuri wa man yumin biAllahi wa ya'mal salihan yudkhilhu jannatin tajri min tahtiha al-anharu khalidina fi ha abadan qad ahsana Allahu lahu rizqan

A Messenger, who recites to you the signs of Allah containing clear explanations, that he may lead forth those who have faith and do righteous deeds from the depths of darkness into light. And those who have faith in Allah and work righteousness, He will admit to gardens beneath which rivers flow, to dwell therein for ever: Allah has indeed granted for them a most excellent Provision

The following is an excerpt of commentary on this ayah, from Tafsir Ibn Kathir:

The Messenger is the one that conveys the Dhikr... [They will be taken] out of the darkness of disbelief and ignorance into the light of faith and knowledge. Allah the Exalted called the revelation that He has sent down, light, on account of the guidance that it brings
