Arabic text of ayah

Wa maryama ibnata 'imrana allati ahsanat farjaha fa nafakhna fihi min ruhina wa saddaqat bi kalimati rabbiha wa kutubihi wa kanat mina al-qanitina

And Mary daughter of Imran, she who guarded her chastity. So We breathed into her Our spirit, and she was true to the words of her Lord and His scriptures, and she was of the devout

The following is an excerpt of commentary on this ayah, from Tafsir Ibn Kathir:

[She was one] who protected and purified her honor, by being chaste and free of immorality
