Surah al-Qalam ayah 49

Date: October 23, 2004 | 9 Ramadan 1425 Hijriah

Lawla an tadarakahu ni'matun min rabbihi lanubitha bi al-'arai wa huwa madhmumun

If grace from his Lord had not reached him, he would have been cast off on the shore and been disgraced

The following is an excerpt of commentary on this ayah, from Tafsir Ibn Kathir:

Imam Ahmad recorded from Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah said, "It is not befitting for anyone to say that I am better than Yunus bin Matta." Al-Bukhari recorded this Hadith and it is in the Two Sahihs reported from Abu Hurayrah
