Surah al-Haqqah ayah 19

Date: October 23, 2003 | 26 Shaban 1424 Hijriah
Arabic text of ayah

Fa amma man utiya kitabahu bi yaminihi fa yaqoolu haumu iqrau kitabiyah

So as to whoever is given their record in their right hand, they will say, Here, read my record

The following is an excerpt of commentary on this ayah, from Tafsir Ibn Kathir:

Allah informs of the happiness of those who receive their Book in the right hand on the Day of Judgement and being pleased with this. He will say this because he knows that what is in it is good and purely virtuous deeds. He will be of those whom Allah replaced their bad deeds (evils) with good deeds... The suffix 'Um' is a grammatical addition". This is what he (Abdur-Rahman) said. It seems apparent that the suffix 'Um' means here 'you all'
