Surah al-Haqqah ayah 16

Date: October 22, 2003 | 25 Shaban 1424 Hijriah
Arabic text of ayah

Wa inshaqqati as-samau fa hiya yawma'idhin wahiyatun

And the heaven will be split for it will be flimsy on that day

The following is an excerpt of commentary on this ayah, from Tafsir Ibn Kathir:

Ibn Abbas said, "It (the sky) will be torn apart and the Throne will be near it"
