Arabic text of ayah

Ala an nubaddila khayran minhum wa maa nahnu bi masbuqina

To substitute better than them, and We are not to be defeated

The following is an excerpt of commentary on this ayah, from Tafsir Ibn Kathir:

Two interpretations of this ayah have been given. The first is that it means, on the Day of Resurrection they will be brought to life in better bodies. This is linked to Surah al-Qiyamah ayat 3-4 and Surah al-Waqi'a ayat 60-61. Ibn Jarir preferred the meaning, to replace them with better people than they are. This is linked to Surah Muhammad ayah 38. Ibn Kathir felt that the first interpretation was more obvious
