Surah Nuh ayah 4

Arabic text of ayah

Yaghfir lakum min dhunubikum wa yuakhkhirkum ila ajalin musamman inna ajala Allahi idha jaa laa yuakhkharu law kuntum ta'lamoona

So that He may forgive your sins and give your respite for specific term; when the term set by Allah is finished, it cannot be brought forward, if you only knew

The following is an excerpt of commentary on this ayah, from Tafsir Ibn Kathir:

Hasten to the obedience (of Allah) before the coming of His vengeance. For verily, if He commands that to happen, it cannot be repulsed or prevented. For He is the Great One Who compels everything, and He is the Almighty Whose might all of creation succumbs to
