Arabic text of ayah

Wa maa adraka maa sijjin

And what will make you know what Sijjin is?

The following is an excerpt of commentary on this ayah, from Tafsir Ibn Kathir:

It is related that [Sijjin] is beneath the seventh earth. This comes to us in a long hadith narrated by Bara ibn Azib, who said that Allah ordered the soul of a disbeliever to be sent to Sijjin, which is beneath the seventh earth. It is also reported that it is a deep pit in Hell. But the correct interpretation is that it is an extremely narrow place. As every higher heaven is broader than the lower, similarly every lower layer of the earth is narrower than the upper one
