Surah al-Fajr ayah 9

Wa Thamuda alladhina jabu as-sakhra bi al-wad

And Thamud, who hewed rocks in the valley

The following is an excerpt of commentary on this ayah, from Tafsir Ibn Kathir:

Another people mentioned in the surah are Thamud, who, according to Ibn Ishaq, lived in Wadi al-Qura. Aad and Thamud have been frequently mentioned together in the Quran
