W'al-fajr

By the dawn

The following is an excerpt of commentary on this ayah, from Tafsir Ibn Kathir:

Al-fajr literally means the time before dawn. Here, it has a special connotation and is understood to mean the morning of Eid al-Adha as well as the fajr prayer and the whole day
