Surah al-Ma'un ayah 1

Date: June 20, 2002 | 9 Rabi al-Akhir 1423 Hijriah
Arabic text of ayah

Aray'ta alladhi yukadhdhibu bi ad-din

Have you seen he who rejects the religion?

The following is an excerpt of commentary on this ayah, from Syed Qutb:

The surah starts with a question addressed to all who can "see", generating suspense and holding their attention in order to make them discover the target and subject of the surah. Ah! Who is this creature identified by the Qur'an as the one who denies the religion of Islam?
