Clark on UAE ports issue

Video (alternate, QuickTime), Audio (transcript) - The interviewer tries to trap Clark on the UAE ports issue but Clark refuses to be drawn and says only that Bush has failed to do enough about port security in the four and a half years since 9/11 (this is the responsibility of the Department of Homeland Security) and that the approval process for the deal (which was conducted independently between Dubai Ports World and P&O, but the U.S. government has to approve letting Dubai Ports World take over P&O's American contracts) was not sufficiently transarent. Both of these are valid points. Clark also mentions that he is familiar with DPW.

I am very thankful to see Clark choosing not to join in the demagoguery and hysteria on this issue. This is one of the reasons that I support him.

Clark Quote

Don't we owe it to ourselves to be all that we can be as a people of faith? To reach out and offer hope and opportunity to the least among us? To preach peace and prosperity and to live equality and justice? (source)
