What's next?

WesPAC sent the following email on December 29, 2005:

I hope you and your family are enjoying a happy holiday season! These closing days of 2005 are a busy time for me and all of us here at WesPAC, as we celebrate the holidays with friends and family while working hard to plan for the year ahead.

WesPAC is going to continue to be active on many fronts in 2006, supporting good candidates to help build Democratic majorities in Congress and state legislatures across the country, as well as speaking out on issues that will enhance America's security -- from foreign policy and the war on terrorism to education, health care, immigration, and the economy.

So now, as we're preparing our budget for the coming year, we need your help to close out 2005 in strong financial shape and give us the resources we need to fulfill our ambitious agenda for 2006.

Help us fight for the candidates and issues to make America more secure at home and abroad in 2006 -- contribute to WesPAC today!

2005 was a busy year for WesPAC -- and next year promises to be even busier. Just look at what we've accomplished together over the past 12 months:

* We've worked hard for many different candidates across America, including Paul Hackett, Eric Massa, Jim Pederson, Senator Maria Cantwell, Governor Tim Kaine, St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman, among many others

* We've provided financial and grassroots support for many different state Democratic parties, including Arkansas, New Hampshire, Florida, Alabama, Virginia, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, and Iowa

* We've spoken out on many important issues, including Iraq, the war on terrorism, the "GI Tax," global warming, prisoner abuse, Darfur, Hurricane Katrina, FCC censorship, and even getting Ed Schultz on Armed Forces Radio

* WesPAC held our first very successful "annual meeting" in Washington, DC, while grassroots supporters organized the "National Clark Community Meetup" in Little Rock

* Finally, your support has enabled me to testify before Congress about Iraq, deliver two Democratic weekly radio addresses, appear on Meet the Press, write several op-eds that were published by the New York Times and Washington Post, and even blog on TPMCafe and our own CCN

That's not a bad year, all-in-all. But all we've really done is lay the groundwork we need to lead Democrats to success in 2006. So we can't stop now.

Help WesPAC close out 2005 strong, and kick-start our efforts heading into 2006 -- contribute today!

I can't thank you enough for everything you've done over the past 12 months. But we've still got a lot of work ahead of us -- and an even greater opportunity to make a huge impact.

In 2006, Democrats have a real opportunity to take back control of Congress. And WesPAC is going to be on the frontlines of that battle.

It's time to hold the Bush Administration accountable for its failed leadership over the past 5 years -- misleading our country into war in Iraq, failing to wage a comprehensive war on terrorism, violating our civil liberties, running up record deficits with reckless tax cuts... the list goes on. The November 2006 elections will be a national referendum on President Bush's failed leadership -- so we need to do everything we can to make sure the American people know these issues before they go to polls.

You can get 2006 off to a tremendous start, right now, by pledging your financial support to WesPAC before our December 31st fundraising deadline.

Contribute to WesPAC today!

Thanks again for your continued friendship and support. Have a safe and happy New Year!

Sincerely,

Wes Clark

Don't we owe it to ourselves to be all that we can be as a people of faith? To reach out and offer hope and opportunity to the least among us? To preach peace and prosperity and to live equality and justice? (source)
