Clark discusses Iraq's neighbors

QuickTime video, Audio (transcript) - Clark discusses the interests of Syria and Iran in Iraq and again emphasizes that dealing with them is not primarily a military issue. He also says that the lack of sufficient troops in Iraq has prevented really dealing successfully with border issues for more than a short while. He says that rather than sealing the borders, which wouldn't likely work, the U.S. should work diplomatically with the countries in the region to get them involved. Clark also discusses the meaning of the milestone of 2,000 American soldiers killed and the pain of their families, of those wounded, and the overstretch of the Army. He reiterates that in order to succeed, there needs to be a real strategy and political leadership.

Clark Quote

Don't we owe it to ourselves to be all that we can be as a people of faith? To reach out and offer hope and opportunity to the least among us? To preach peace and prosperity and to live equality and justice? (source)
