Western Journalists in Support of Chechnya
Are the people of Chechnya "terrorists" targeting Russia? Or has Russia systematically denied the rights of the people of Chechnya and oppressed them? And is it possible that the Chechen cause has been hijacked by extremists? Should our condemnation of terrorism lead us to condemn the entire Chechen independence movement? Here are some articles by Western journalists who support the Chechen cause. Take the time to learn both sides of the story.

Human Rights Reports on Russia in Chechnya
In the American media we read quite a bit about attacks on civilians by certain Chechen groups and other reports of terrorism (to read about why Islam actually forbids violence against civilians, please see What Islam Really Says About Killing the Innocent). These are the acts of extremists who are hijacking the Chechen cause. The articles I have linked to above I hope will show you (God willing) that the Chechen cause itself is just, not only as viewed by the Chechens themselves but also as viewed by a number of thoughtful Western journalists. These articles have made mention of human rights violations against the Chechen people by Russia. Now in this section I have provided some links to reports of human rights organizations like Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch to verify these claims. This is not to deny human rights violations by certain Chechen groups, but rather to bring to light the actions by Russia that they are responding to. Reports on the Chechens are easy to find; reports on Russia are much less so and that is why I am providing these links as a resource.
